Irish employment legislation sets the basic standards of behaviour for employers and employees regarding work related matters and also sets out the employee's entitlements and rights which the employer must honour.
Generally such legislation applies to all employers (with very few exceptions) and employers must be compliant with the provisions of each piece of legislation or be subject to claims, fines, awards and even imprisonment in some cases.
This legislation is not always stated in 'plain English' and generally requires some professional interpretation. simplifies each piece of employment legislation and identifies the main requirements for the employer in easy to understand, jargon-free language.
